THE PRODUCT PRINCIPLE
Draft, rewrite, restructure and export in one professional surface. Changes proposed by the model stay visible and separate until the attorney accepts or rejects them, and every accepted change leaves a version behind that can be inspected and undone.
A general rich-text box is not a drafting surface. The editor is shaped around the documents lawyers actually file and send.
Headings, emphasis, alignment, lists and footnotes behave as document structure, not as decorative styling that collapses on the way out.
Work is saved as you write. A closed tab or a dropped connection does not cost the paragraph you were in the middle of.
Export produces a genuine Word file with legal paper size and layout — not an HTML print view renamed to .docx.
The page is set up the way the deliverable needs to arrive, so formatting is not redone after export.
The difference between a tool a lawyer can sign off on and one they cannot is whether it edits without asking. This one does not.
A proposed insertion or rewrite is displayed apart from your text with its own controls. Nothing merges into the document on its own.
Select a passage and ask for a tighter version, a longer one, a different register, or authority worked into it.
Pending proposals are stored server-side and are still waiting when you come back, rather than dying with the browser tab.
A suggestion is applied against the document version it was written against. If the document moved on, the write is refused instead of silently clobbering your edit.
Work product is reviewed by people who were not present while it was written. The history is part of the deliverable.
The document accumulates saved versions as the work develops, rather than one ever-overwritten current state.
Open what the document looked like at an earlier point and read it as it stood.
Restoring an earlier version is itself a version, so going back is not destructive and can be reversed.
Author private templates and playbooks, version them, and archive the ones the practice has moved past.
IN PRACTICE
Move a settled analysis into a structured memorandum with a question presented, a brief answer and a discussion, then edit it into your own voice.
Work through an over-long draft section by section, accepting the compressions that hold and rejecting the ones that lose the argument.
Take internal analysis and prepare the version that leaves the firm, with the reasoning intact and the register changed.
Restore the version from before a restructuring that did not work, without losing the version you restored from.
Export a finished draft as a real DOCX and continue in the environment the rest of the matter lives in.
Turn a document the practice produces repeatedly into a private template, and revise the template as the position develops.
